The Military App Team

The Military App core team is veteran-led and is experienced working with the serving members, veterans and RHQs. The team is passionate about combining technology and human engagement to drive positive change and seeks to act as a connective tissue, bringing together people and support organisations that are delivering impact across the military community.

Directors and Co-Founders

Robin Bourne-Taylor
MEng Oxon, MEd, CGC, OLY
Robin has a masters in engineering as well as educational leadership and has a career in executive and operational leadership across several engineering based industries. He has a proven track record in scaling and operating SMEs.

Robin served in the British Army, leading soldiers through a kinetic tour of Afghanistan. He is passionate about supporting the serving and veterans' communities. Robin is a double Olympian and former President of the Oxford University Boat Club.
Ben Burch
MEng, Oxon
Ben is the Military App's tech development lead and his career spans operations and technology across retail, e-commerce, banking and fitness. Over 10 years experience in systems integration: senior solutions consultant Elastic.io - 5yrs; Founder Infinite Codeworks - system design consultancy - 10 yrs.

Allegr Ltd is named after Ben's daughter who needed open heart surgery at 4 days old. Ben is a former national team rower and President of the Oxford University Boat Club.
Rachel Mitchell
MSc Sports Management, BA Psych
For over 25 years Rach has worked with an incredible team in sport marketing, staging and promoting some of the most prolific golf events across the globe. With a passion for running and sport, Rach believes in the power of physical activity to transform lives and communities.

Rach and Ben have raised over £55,000 for mental health causes running events all across the country. Rach heads up Allegr's engagements outside of the military.

Prof Marcus Munafo
MA, Oxon, MSc, PhD
Marcus is the professor of biological psychology and MRC investigator at the University of Bristol. His research focuses on understanding pathways into, and the consequences of, health behaviours and mental health, including the development of novel individual- and population- level interventions.
Dr Eeke Thomée
MRCS, FRCR
Eeke is a former international rowing athlete, a mother of three, and ultra-runner. She is a Consultant Radiologist at the Royal Berkshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust in Reading and works closely with multiple elite sports programmes.
Neil Clark
MSc Sports Management, BA Psych
Neil is an adult and youth mental health first aider, a well-being coach and mentor, and is also currently a PhD researcher focusing on mental health and well-being in elite sport and career transition.
