Onboarding

1. Web App Embed

(Onboarding)

The Military App can be viewed on both mobile (via the App) and web, for the best web experience we suggest embedding the web app in your website. We have made this process simple, you can either use a plugin or a small snippet of code depending on your web hosting/platform. Below are links for Wordpress, Wix and a general code/snippet approach.

The Web App will only display on domains that we have configured on our server:
https://remeconnect.org/

2. Email DNS Setup

(Onboarding)

If you are using our Email Platform we need to configure your domain DNS settings. The purpose of this is to allow the email platform (SendGrid) to "send as" you RHQ/Unit email address.

Once you have provided us with the domain you wish to send from, we will provide you with a set of DNS settings to make. On the provided instruction page is an option to "verify" - once the verification process is complete we can continue the rest of the setup for you.

The settings will look like the image below. If you are not sure how to make these changes, please contact ben@allegr.org with your DNS/Domain Name access/logins and he will assist.

Pre Launch

1. Redirects - Quick Links

(Pre Launch)

To improve the member experience and avoid confusion we suggest that you set up the following links and redirects (sometimes called 301 redirects). These will also be printed on promotional materials to help with member recruitment.

Links and redirects are configured differently for each hosting platform, below are the links that are needed. When copying and pasting be careful that there are spaces in the links - paste into a browser and test first if not sure.

Optional - only needed if you didn't install web app using default/suggested configuration:

3. Web Navigation

(Pre Launch)

In your website we recommend you add two main header menu item. Every website is different but this would be our suggested set up, the first "about" item navigates to a new page - we have provided details below.

Navigation Items:

APP SUPPORT
We suggest a drop down with options:

4. New Web Page

(Pre Launch)

Below is our proposed text for the new page about the App and platform, you can amend this text and change the layout to suit your website.

Introduction:

TNF Connect is The Not Forgotten’s brand-new digital community platform, launching in mid-March 2026, designed to bring veterans and service personnel living with injury, illness and isolation together in a secure and supportive virtual community. It provides a dedicated space to build friendships, share experiences, and access wellbeing resources — from the comfort of home or whilst out and about. TNF Connect will be available to download in the App Store & Google Play Store by searching “TNF Connect”, and will also be accessible via website access from your home computer, laptop or tablet (MODnet approved).

Developed in partnership with Military App, and with generous support from The Forces Trust and The Seafarers’ Charity, TNF Connect is a modern extension of The Not Forgotten’s century-old mission to combat loneliness and isolation — reinforcing (not replacing) the charity’s long-standing in-person events programme by helping beneficiaries stay connected before, during and long after events. TNF Connect also forms part of the wider Military App Community, a dedicated mobile and web-app platform built for military charities, units and associations to strengthen connection, build support, and drive real-world engagement across a growing network.

The TNF App combines Groups, Messaging, Events Management, Search & Connect functions, News, Fundraising, a Pinboard homepage and Support content. We have a wide range of private Regimental groups covering: regional and association branches, serving units, family, welfare, social, heritage and museum.

Members will also be able to access social and activity groups across the wider Military App Community, including Walk+Talks, Coffee & Breakfast Clubs. Members can view and join Para groups for sport, apprenticeships and networking as well as adding other regimental groups to your account if you have served with other units.

Group Admin Training:

For app group admins and community stakeholders we have a comprehensive range of online training, a simple way to familiarise yourself with how to use the tools available to you.

The Web App will only display on domains that we have configured on our server:
https://theroyallancers.org

Links and redirects are configured differently for each hosting platform, below are the links that are needed. When copying and pasting be careful that there are spaces in the links - paste into a browser and test first if not sure.

Optional - only needed if you didn't install web app using default/suggested configuration:

3. Web Navigation

(Pre Launch)

In your website we recommend you add two main header menu item. Every website is different but this would be our suggested set up, the first "about" item navigates to a new page - we have provided details below.

Navigation Items:
