Stakeholder Workshop
There will be a number of Workshops around the country to help key stakeholders and group administrators understand more about the digital platform and how to use it effectively.
Before attending the Workshop please try to watch the Introductory Video below:
Not Registered yet on the App?
If you are not already registered on the App, as a group admin, you should have been sent an App Invitation by email with download and login information.
If you have not received this then you can download the App using the links below (from your smartphone) and click to "Register" using the Group Code:
MA-TEST
If you go to register but the App takes you straight to "Enter Password" this will be because we have already set up an account for you. If you haven’t seen this email you can just do a password reset or check your emails for your temporary password.
Online Training
You should all have been sent this link to a 30 minute online training quiz for group Admins. Please aim to complete this before the Workshop starts. Doing this will cover the basics and make the Workshop far more productive for you and the group (your RHQ will be sent a notification when you complete the training quiz).
During the Workshop we will ask each of you as group admins to create a News or Support article within your groups. These could be: branch updates; reports from a recent sports fixture; signposting to welfare support; a unit update of recent activity… For this you should have access from your device to:
An article title
An article image (landscape and file size 1MB or less is ideal)
Article text (including any web links)
We will also ask you each to create an Event Advert for a real upcoming event related to your group. This could be: Your next branch meeting; a sports fixture; an association event; a funeral; a band event; a social gathering… For this you should have access from your device to:
An Event title
Event details (date, time, location, contact, payment, any required RSVP questions)
An Event image (landscape and file size 1MB or less is ideal)
Bring your own device
Please remember to bring your device with you. This should be your smartphone as a minimum but ideally a laptop or tablet as you may find the larger screen easier to use. We will provide wifi if you don’t have it. The Web-App is accessible on MODnet wifi.
Total time approximately 3 hours (but we will adapt to fit shorter timeframes if needed)
1. Registration (10 minutes)
We will do a quick check around the room to make sure that all participants have managed to download the App and register on the platform (this should have been done beforehand but we may need to assist a few).
2. RHQ/Association Introductory Brief (5 minutes)
We will start with an introduction from a member of your HQ team.
3. Introduction (30 minutes)
We will watch the Intro video again, withthe Military App team on hand to answer questions and go into more detail at the end.

We will show you how to edit text, images and contacts in your group and you can try this if needed.
We will also show you how to edit and re-arrange the layout of your group content.
We will also show you how to add embedded websites into your groups.
5. News Article Example (30 minutes)
For sections 5-7 we will split into groups and on your own devices ask you to try creating a News article. If you are not a group admin with a live App group that you can edit, please pair up with someone that is and assist or work with them. We will work through the task following this video.

10. Social Media Campaign Images (10 minutes)
We will as participants to help us collect 10+ images we can use for Unit social media and comms campaigns to help grow awareness and membership. This is really important for you HQ comms team. Here are three examples.
11. Discussion about Activity and Social Group - Walk+Talks and Coffee Clubs (15 minutes)
We see if any community members are interested in joining or leading a local activity to strengthen connection across the Regimental Family. Even if you already run a formal group like an Association Branch or a Serving Unit, starting an informal and no-fuss social or activity group may give members a chance to connect when they otherwise wouldn’t. Walk+Talks and Coffee Clubs have been very effective and positive across other Regiments but we can also support you with existing or new ideas.
12. How you can help grow Awareness and Engagement within your pockets of the Community… (Serving - Veteran - Family) (15 minutes)
Your HQ representative will initiate a discussion with participants about how they can raise awareness and grow membership. The Military App team will show what has worked well with other Regiments.

8. Sports Groups in the App
The app can provide a range of tools to support sports captains and organisers to bring their groups and activities into the platform.
One (or a small number of RHQ team) will be assigned as a Community Manager.
These provide additional permissions to manage groups and content across all of your regimental groups.
